Founded in 2014 in Coimbatore, Porsabai Academy of Performing Arts is a distinguished institution dedicated to preserving and elevating the rich heritage of Bharatanatyam and other classical Indian art forms. Under the visionary leadership of Ms.Nandini Selvaraj, the academy has become a beacon of artistic excellence and cultural heritage, committed to shaping the next generation of dancers and cultural ambassadors.

Our Founder

Ms.Nandini Selvaraj, the visionary founder of Porsabai Academy of Performing Arts, embarked on her Bharatanatyam journey at the tender age of five under the tutelage of Natya Kala Sarathy Smt. Malathy Thothathri. She further refined her skills in the esteemed Vazhuvoor tradition under Thiru.Vazhuvoor S. Palaniappan and trained in Nattuvangam with Nritya Rathna Baratha Kalai Chudar Tmt. Amudha Dhandapani. Her passion for art and pursuit for deeper understanding of various aspects of the art form led her to study the nuances of abhinaya under Kalaimamani Dr.Lakshmi Ramaswamy. Her academic pursuits include a Master’s degree in Bharatanatyam from Madras University, and she is currently a PhD research scholar at Vels University.
Porsabai School of Performing Arts was founded by Smt. Nandini Selvaraj in 2014 with the vision to provide comprehensive training in Indian classical arts and cultivate a deeper understanding of Indian heritage and traditions. Smt. Nandini began her Bharatanatyam journey at the age of five under Natya Kala Sarathy Smt. Malathi Thiotathri. She further honed her skills in the Vazhuvoor Bhani under Thiru. Vazhuvoor S. Palaniappan and trained in Nattuvangam under Nritya Rathna Baratha Kalai Chudar Tmt. Amudha Dhandapani. A passionate learner, she pursued her Masters in Bharatanatyam at Madras University and is currently a PhD scholar at Vels University. Under her guidance, Porsabai has flourished, offering a nurturing environment for students to excel in Bharatanatyam, Veena, Keyboard, Mirudangam, and devotional hymns such as Thevaram & Thiruvasagam.
With over nine years of growth, Porsabai remains committed to preserving and promoting India’s classical arts, fostering a love for culture among its students.

Malathi Senthilkumar
Dedicated veena artist with a Diploma in Veena at Bharathiya Vidhya Bhavan, Coimbatore has 20 years of experience in performing and 6 years in teaching. Recognised for performing and engaging audiences at prestigious events and festivals like Muthuswami Dheekshithar’s Jayanthi Keethanaanjali Isai Vizha , Tamil Nadu Government Music College for world Music Day, Sankara TV et al, and skilled in fostering music talent in students, also with a passion of sharing the beauty of Indian classical music through veena with diverse audiences.


VOCAL TUTOR
MuraliKrishnan G
A deeply passionate and experienced carnatic vocalist who brings over three decades of dedicated practice and learning to his Carnatic vocal instruction. For the last 15 years, he has shared his expertise and knowledge to numerous students in various institutes and schools. He has graced the temple stages and functions across Tamil Nadu with his vocal performances on numerous occasions. He was also a recognised ‘Grade B’ artist for the All India Radio where he performed Thevaram.
